My Life with Tone!

In 1980 at a bus stop on Regent Street I meet Tony Forde he had a dark brown coat and bucked teeth. He was with his best friend Danny Brown and I was with mine Hannah Williams. Each evening, no matter what time it was they were always there, I later learned that between them they had agreed that whoever got there first would make sure that they kept us there until the other arrived. So my 32 year journey began on the 53 bus and what a journey it was. We had Natasha and Ashley and life revolved around Music, Cricket and Tottenham Football Club. Tony loved his music and formed a sound system called Maverick, it made no money, but he had a good time trying. Tony breathed, ate and lived for cricket so much so I considered myself a cricket widow during the season. Poor Tony, as a lone Tottenham supporter in a household of the great Gunners (Arsenal!) he knew he was in for rough time when Tottenham lost again, come on they waited 23 years to beat Manchester United! Tony was the most fun loving, outgoing person I have ever known, he really lived life to the full and relished a challenge, he was also a fighter… so no matter what life threw at us he was always smiling and positive, he had time for everyone which is a testament to everyone who has turned up here today. For me I could write several books on my life with Tone, but my overriding thought is who is going to make the night time tea. Will always love you no matter what - Sharon xx
